Thanks for dropping by!

This web site has been in existence since 2000. It offers numerous links for RNs, hospice, nursing students, healthcare workers, quilters, sewing enthusiasts, multicultural (particularly Swedish and Italian) information, New Orleaneans, cats, and other animals. Plus lots of miscellanea for those with enquiring minds!

There is one commonality among those whom we serve, and that is, in the end, it all comes down to relationships. Some are enjoying the relationships they have with a supportive spouse or children, others are mending fences or mourning the loss of a relationship or regretting not having done more to nurture a relationship while they could. Even when a patient is concerned about finances, it is usually because they want someone they love to be well cared for when they're gone.

I've yet to hear a person say they wished they would've become a rock star or went hang gliding over the Rockies or even made a million bucks or spent more time at the office when they reach the end of their life. It's always something about their relationships with people.

The important things in life are RELATIONSHIPS. Knowing this has helped me nurture the ones I have and become more forgiving and tolerant. It has also helped me to forgive and walk away from relationships that were not productive or nurturing. The other lesson I’ve learned here is: LIFE IS SHORT. Every interaction with someone we care about is a chance to create another memory. It’s important to treat each opportunity as an one to create a memory for someone as though it might be the last. Because you never can tell, it just might be!
